3 Different Steamed Dumplings

3 Different Dumplings!

  • Dynasty brand Potstickers/Dumpling wrappers

  • Napa cabbage leaves

  • 1/2 cup of canola oil for frying the kimchi dumplings!

Spicy Chicken Dumplings:

  • 1/2 pound ground chicken

  • 1 tablespoon ginger - chopped finely

  • 1 large clove garlic - chopped finely

  • 2 tablespoon green onion - chopped finely

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons red chili paste

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Garlic Pork Dumplings:

  • 1/2 pound ground pork

  • 1 tablespoon chopped finely garlic

  • 1 tablespoon chopped finely ginger

  • 3 tablespoons chives - chopped finely

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Vegan Kimchi Dumplings

  • 1/4 cup kimchi - finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Napa cabbage

  • 1/4 cup shredded carrot

  • 1/4 cup chopped bean sprouts

  • 1 tablespoon chopped finely garlic

  • 1 tablespoon chopped finely ginger

  • 3 tablespoon chives - chopped finely

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Dipping sauce

  • 1/4 cup black vinegar

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon finely julienned ginger

  1. Mix all 3 dumpling mixtures in separate bowl. It should be mixed well but the meat fillings should not be over mixed.

  2. For the steamed dumplings, you will ned a steamer. They are inexpensive and you can find on just about anywhere nowadays! Here is the steamer I use and love!

  3. Get your dumplings station prepared by setting out the dumpling wrapper and covering them with a damp paper towel and grabbing a small bowl with warm water.

  4. Work in batches and place a heaping tablespoon worth on filling giant the middle of the wrapper. Wet you finger in the small bowl of warm water and wet the edges of the wrapper. Gently fold the wrapper into a half moon and press the edges together.

  5. Repeat this with all the fillings.

  6. Work in batches to cook the dumplings, you don’t want to overcrowd the dumplings in the steamer. Line the bamboo steamer with Napa cabbage and the place the steamer on top of a large skillet that has about 2 inches of water in it. Place the dumplings on top of the cabbage and allow the to steam.

  7. Steam the dumplings for 15 minutes.

  8. Serve immediately with the dipping sauce!

As for the Vegan Kimchi Fried dumplings, once they are filled fry them in a large skillet with canola oil. You should fry them on medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side until they are golden and crispy!
